Taman Negara, spread out over 4,343 sq. km of the formidable Titiwangsa Mountain range in Taman Negara - one of the world's oldest Rainforest. A sanctuary to hundreds of species of birds, butterflies, insects, fish and plants. Home to Malaysia's friendly aborigines, the Orang Asli. A shy yet gentle race, they continue to live the nomadic way they have lived for centuries although fully aware of the country's fast-paced progress.

Come discover the living treasures Mother Nature has to offer . Whether it's shooting thrilling rapids, exploring spectacular caves, tackling a 20 pound fish, scaling up peninsular Malaysia's highest mountain, trekking through dense, thick forest pathways or swimming in crystal clear pools, Malaysia's National Park is a natural paradise you must experience. An adventure of a lifetime awaits you here. read more.....

Cameron Highlands is Malaysia's largest and best-known hill resort. Discovered by, and named after William Cameron, a government surveyor who, in 1885 explored the area by hacking a path up through dense jungle and came across, "A fine plateau shut in by mountains". At 1524m above sea level the area enjoys a cool climate, with temperatures no higher than 20°C and rarely falling below 10°C, a welcome change to the generally oppressive heat and humidity at sea level.

Nestling the borders of Pahang and Perak provinces are the Cameron Highlands, Malaysia's most popular hill station destination. It is actually an area of tremendous natural beauty, encompassing tea farms, vegetable fields, flower gardens and challenging hiking trails with rushing waterfalls. It also finds tremendous favor with many budget travelers because of its cool climate which is in stark contrast to the hot, humid weather in most parts of the region. read more.....

The history of Penang is closely related to the history of Kedah. Penang was  previously part of the sultanate of Kedah until it became a British possession in  1786. It later gained independence as part of the Federation of Malaya in 1957.

16th century Portuguese traders from Goa, India sailing to the Far East in search of spices found a small island where they replenished their water supplies. They named it Pulo Pinaom. In the 17th century, Penang’s location at the northern entry to the Straits of Malacca provided a sheltered harbour for Chinese, Indian, Arabian and European ships during the monsoon months; this, in turn, inevitably made it fertile hunting ground for pirates.

One of the very first Englishmen to reach Penang was the merchant-navigator Sir James Lancaster who in 1588 served under Sir Francis Drake as commander of the Edward Bonadventure against the nemesis of the Spanish Armada. On 10 April 1591, commanding the same ship, he set sail from Plymouth for the East Indies, reaching Penang in June 1592, remaining on the island until September of the same year and pillaging every vessel he encountered. He returned to England in May 1594. read more.....

1200 hours, On arrival at Kuala Lipis town, last town before heading for Cameron Highlands, we will stop for refreshment / lunch in one of the local coffee shops.

Kuala Lipis was a gold-mining center before the British arrived in 1887. In 1898 it became the capital of Pahang until 1953.

During this time, grand colonial buildings, such as the imposing District Offices and the Clifford School, and the Pahang Club were built. The hilltop house of the British Resident is now a hotel and museum.

The town grew and prospered with the coming of the railway in 1924. However, in August 1955, the state capital was moved to Kuantan, and Kuala Lipis fell into a decline. It is now a sleepy and picturesque town with reminders of a once important past.

Like the Kuala Lumpur station, the Ipoh station were designed and constructed by Arthur Benison Hubback, a British architectural assistant to the Director of Public Works. Having served in India, Hubback utilised his knowledge of Anglo-Asian architecture in the region on the station's design. The "Neo-Moorish / Mughal / Indo-Saracenic /Neo-Saracenic" style was not uncommon at the time.
