Train Ride to Penang Hill
The history of Penang is closely related to the history of Kedah. Penang was previously part of the sultanate of Kedah until it became a British possession in 1786. It later gained independence as part of the Federation of Malaya in 1957.
16th century Portuguese traders from Goa, India sailing to the Far East in search of spices found a small island where they replenished their water supplies. They named it Pulo Pinaom. 0730 hours, Meet and Greet by our staff, and transfer to Penang Islands. The journey will take around 4 1/2 hours Kuala Lumpur, as the drive take you on highway and country road, and drive through rubber and palm plantations.
1030 hours Coffee / Tea break
1300 hours cross into Penang Islands via second bridge (longest in Southeast Asia, The Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah Bridge or Penang Second Bridge)
1330 hours lunch will be serve in Penang Islands, after lunch continues with sightseeing as stated below.
George Town, the capital city of Penang was named after King George III of England, is an interesting lend of the old and new. It is worth to note that Penang has one of the largest Colonial Buildings in Southeast Asia. Tours includes a stop at Fort Cornwallis, built in 1808. Fort Cornwallis also marks the spot where Sir Francis Light first landed on this island. You will be driven through Street of Harmony, which houses the Anglican Church, Kuan Yin Chinese Temple, Mahamariaman Indian Temple and the Kapitan Keling Mosque. Followed by a visit to Little India. Followed by, the World’s Fourth Largest Reclining Buddha statue at Wat Chayamangkalaram. Next stop, Fort Cornwallis and Kek Lok Si Temple is one of the largest Buddhist temples in South-East Asia. It is also known as the Temple of Ten Thousand Buddha’s. The 7-Tier Pagoda of 10,000 Buddha which dominates the temple, is influenced by the architecture styles of the Thais, Burmese and Chinese. A beautiful Bronze Statue of the Goddess of Mercy overlooks the temple. Next, take the funicular train ride up Penang Hill and elevation of 833m above sea level, a cool hill retreat from the tropical heat below for a Panoramic View of George Town and experience the flora and fauna.

1200 hours after breakfast, check out from Hotel and proceed to Kuala Lumpur. If any of the sightseeing can not be covered on day one, then the check out time will be at 10AM, and continues with remaining sightseeing. After lunch proceed to Kuala Lumpur.
1300 hours lunch will be serve at local restaurant

1700 hours drop off at hotel and tour ends.

Deposit (RM300.00 per person is required) is required when you book this tour. After submitting the reservation / booking form online, the deposit paid is for us to use your deposit to block the room/s, you will be taken to the payment page (deposit must be paid via Credit Card / Debit Card) and the balance payment can be paid in CASH in Malaysian Ringgit, (if you are paying with this denomination US$ / Euro / SG / AUS$ / Pound, please let us know a few days before departure, so that we can work out the exchange rate for you) when we pick you up on the tour day.
Balance Payment (by Visa / Master)
If you opt to pay the balance payment for your tour
by Credit or Charge Card we charge a Non-Refundbale surcharge of 2.5% based on total tour cost of your balance payment.
You can avoid this fee by paying cash in Malaysian Ringgit. The charge on your card will read "MM Adventure Travel and Discovery Sdn. Bhd."
In the worst case scenario, after your booking and deposit is made, and there is no place/s available for your requested date/s, we will inform you of an alternative date/s and if it is not possible for you to change the date, we will refund the deposit (100%) within 30 minitues to 24 hours from the time you made your deposit.

Your driver / guide will be able to suggest restaurants / stalls / street food to try during your trip. To give you the maximum flexibility in deciding what you want to eat, where and what to eat, generally our guide will advice you time to time. This also gives you more flexibility and want to try our local cuisine (hot / spicy / sweet / sour and etc......). As a rule our driver guide will tend to mingle you with local eat together to enable feel like one of them. There's no obligation to do this though, if can it will be a great experience.
